Welcome to the Dhamma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara
The Dhamma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara Inc. (ABN 61534081067, INC 2100940) is a Sri Lankan Theravada Buddhist Temple established with the following objectives in mind:

To promote the study and practice of the Buddha’s teachings of insight and compassion as documented in the Pali Tripitaka

To appreciate cultural and religious Buddhist traditions which help understand the purpose of life and the well-being of mankind

To undertake activities which enhance the well-being of the individual, family, community, and society

To organize charitable welfare programs to assist the community at large

Ven Ratmalane Somaloka Thero
Spiritual Advisor – Dhamma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara
The Ven Ratmalane Somaloka is the advisor to the Dhamma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara. He established the Australian Buddhist Vihara in 1972, the first Buddhist Meditation Centre in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia, where he was the Chief Incumbent until 2020.
He is renowned for his work in bringing together the physical and mental healing techniques in promoting awareness of psychological and physical well-being, and practicing holistic medicine, psychological counselling, and meditation. He is an exceptional teacher who combines both the knowledge and experience of Buddhist meditation, with the knowledge and understanding of Western clinical psychotherapy.
Ven Somaloka is member of the Australian Counselling Association, and the American Psychological Association. Presently, he directs the mindfulness meditation and psychological counselling centre in Sydney.

Ven Ratmalane Dhammika Thero
Head of Institute – Dhamma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara
The Ven Ratmalane Dhammika was ordained as a monk at the Kaldemulla Pulinathalarama Maha Viharaya in 2002.
He studied the Theravada Tripitaka Dharmaya and Meditation at Ratmalana Mallikaramaya Dharmarakshitha Tripitaka Dharmayathana Pirivena, and at the Vidyodaya Maha Pirivena.
Ven Dhammika has a good knowledge and understanding of the Buddha’s teachings, and ancient Buddhist texts.
With over 20 years of experience as a monk, Ven Dhammika has extensive experience in meditation, preaching the Dhamma, and conducting Buddhist religious and cultural activities.
DVBV Executive Management Committee 2025 / 2026
The Executive Management Committee of DVBV is responsible for the operations of the temple. The obligations of the Committee are to maintain the temple premises, provide religious and cultural services to the community, undertake welfare and outreach activities, conduct a Dhamma School, and initiate membership drives and fund raising activities.

The Lotus Unit Trust
The Dhamma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara (DVBV) was established in August 2021 under the Lotus Unit Trust, and is managed by an Executive Management Committee.
The Lotus Unit Trust is the legal custodian of the DVBV, and was responsible for the financial commitment to establish the temple.
